Oriflame Pure Color Lipstick in Blush Pink | Review

Hola beauties!

Back in January I entered a giveaway and was luckily one of the three winners. My prize included three products from Oriflame of which I have been testing the lipstick I received. Although pink is not my favorite color and I look for more warm toned or rouge pink I went on giving this bright pink lipstick a try. The shade I received is called Blush Pink from their Pure Color Collection. I have been wearing it indoors almost everyday since I got it wanting to completely make up my mind about it and now that I have decided to rate it I’ll share with you the reasons why.

It comes in a slender black bullet with a transparent cap that comes off loosely and might be troublesome during travel. It is not sturdy and sort of cheap but okay for the price you are paying for it. The name of shade along with its code is mentioned on the bottom. Since the cap is transparent you can easily spot the shade without having to remove it. The lipstick has been shaped like a triangular prism, which seemed a bit annoying to me initially because it made application for me difficult but I got used to of it soon. The shape has now been all rounded after use.

Formula and Experience: I didn’t really had a bad or good experience with this product. Scroll down and you might understand the reasons why.

Oriflame lipstick blush pink

  • The shade looked bold like a hot pink in bullet but when I swatched it, it appeared more like punch pink which is a pretty shade and would compliment paler skin tones more than medium skin tones. The pigmentation is okay, neither opaque nor too transparent and can be built up but I won’t suggest applying too many layers. It stays for upto 2 or 3 hours and after that it leaves a light stain which is neither annoying nor flattering.
  • The texture is very creamy, glides on easily and has a sheen to it. I prefer matte over sheen or gloss so to my surprise it didn’t bother me as much as I thought it would. The sheen settles down after an hour or so if you have a habit off licking of your lips like me. I scrub my lips daily so I didn’t had any trouble wearing this lipstick, it didn’t made my lips feel dry until one day I didn’t scrub and went on directly with this lipstick I felt it a bit drying but I have a habit of licking off my lips so it may be due to that too. -.- It does has a sweet vanilla like scent which isn’t overpowering.
  • It’s formula is so creamy more like buttery that it would start to bleed if layered too much. It settles on the outer lip line whether you apply too much or you apply a single layer and that’s not something I like. I have to store it in refrigerator because it started to melt on room temperature which was still not too high because of the weather and keeping it on room temperature during summer will definitely not be a good idea.

Overall I think it’s an okay lipstick and I don’t think I’ll be reaching out for it often. The formula is too buttery for my liking and the shade itself isn’t the kind I like to wear.

Quantity and Price: 4g for 399 PKR.

  1. I always wanted to read a review on these lipsticks. Glad u did a detailed review. These seem more like a lip butter of lip balm to me. But yes lipsticks with such texture often tend to bleed. It seems decent for price though. Thanks for sharing ur thought.
